MSCI codes for the target data used in Temperature Scoring Tool

Hello!

Regarding the Temperature Scoring Python tool:
If available, would it be possible for you to provide the relevant MSCI codes for the target data you use in your example file (“data_provider_example”) ? More specifically, it would be great if you could suggest the MSCI codes for the following fields:

target_type
intensity_metric
scope
coverage_s1
coverage_s2
coverage_s3
reduction_ambition
base_year
end_year
start_year
base_year_ghg_s1
base_year_ghg_s2
base_year_ghg_s3
achieved_reduction

Many thanks!
Nikos

Hi @NikosL

Welcome to the community and thanks for your patience.

In the example files we only have dummy data that does not correspond to any real companies, targets, emissions, etc.

SBTi doesn’t have a mapping for which MSCI fields would be appropriate to use for the SBTi Finance Tool and its input fields, as SBTi doesn’t have access to MSCI’s systems. Only MSCI can currently respond to that question unfortunately. Please ask your MSCI help desk. When you do find out, please feel free to share the information here, so that it can benefit others with similar questions.

Thank you very much for the response Donald!
MSCI didn’t give an official mapping, but I could draw a mapping based on names/descriptions of their fields on their ESG Manager Plattform.

Best regards
Nikos
