To what extent is it possible to adjust targets upwards after validation without going through the whole process again? This is important as guidance is constantly in development and methods to reduce emissions are expected to become more accessible in the upcoming years.

We offer resubmission processes to companies and financial institutions to adjust their targets. Please see 7.1.2. Submitting new targets/Target revalidation process in the SBTi target validation protocol for more info. This does entail going through the validation process again as the SBTi validation team needs to conduct a comprehensive review to ensure that the new targets meet all criteria and check changes to other aspects of the submission that might be trigged due to the newly submitted targets .
