Supporting documents

Hello there!

We are on the final step of completing and submitting the SBTi form for an FI. Is it mandatory to provide any supporting documentation and if yes what would that documentation be exactly? For your information, any temperature scores have been calculated manually through the SBTi’s Python package.

Thank you in advance!

Seconding this question - for example would it be necessary to provide the underlying company names and targets for SBTi to validate the targets input to the tool are indeed accurate?

Hi, also on this question interested to understand the requirements for supporting docs when using a PTR method?

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your questions. Please do attach any documents relevant to your target validation process together with your Submission form.

For instance, include the spreadsheets used for calculating the Temperature Rating scores for each of your portfolios, SBTi SDA tools, Portfolio Coverage calculations, and so on.

Here you can find a notebook with an example of how to use the tool to calculate your portfolio’s temperature scores and to save results to be submitted to SBTi’s Target Validation Team (TVT) for validation and approval of your own Science Based Target.

On Section 6 of the Financial Institutions Submission Form you can list and describe each document, for instance, instead of attaching your Annual/Sustainability/Climate report you can provide the link to access it and the page number where we can reconcile the Total assets included on Table 4 of the submission form with your financial reporting; you can write down that the document “SDA-target-setting-tool 1.xlxs” is the tool used to calculate your “ABS1” target for scope 1 and 2, and the other “SDA-target-setting-tool INT1.xlsx” was used to calculate your electricity generation project finance portfolio; etc.

I hope this information helps to clear your questions.
