State-owned banks

I am familiar with your guidelines for Financial Institutions – however wanted to query whether you validate targets set by state-owned banks and if so, do the FI guidelines apply?

Thanks for reaching out.

The SBTi does not currently validate targets for public sector institutions. However, banks that are run commercially but may be state-owned can be validated per the FI Guidance. A full list of publicly-committed companies, some of which may be state-owned, can be found in the Companies Taking Action dashboard.
