I noticed several mining companies - including one referenced in coal mining - have had targets validated recently. As there is no specific sectoral framework, what standard is used for this? Does the SBTi simply applies the ACA approach?

Hi Paul – thanks for your question. We do not have guidance for mining activities. Companies need to follow general SBTi criteria and methods(i.e. ACA). Coal and other fossil fuels extraction activities are restricted by upcoming Fossil Fuel Policies.
