Hello and welcome! This is the primary channel for technical and query support to help FIs on their journey to adopt SBTs on their operations and portfolio activities.
Since the pilot launch last October, the SBTi finance project team has been providing technical support through emails, office hours, and webinars. We wanted to find a more efficient and engaging way to scale up the support - and here we are! We are constantly coming up with new guidance during the pilot phase. With this forum, we would like to communicate new guidance in a more timely manner to a larger audience.
Portfolio decarbonization remains a novel subject. We would also like to facilitate peer exchange and support with this forum.

- This forum is only for queries and exchanges about SBTs for financial institutions. The team will only respond to posts related to FIs. For questions about SBTs for corporates and SMEs, please review the extensive resources, FAQs, and documentation available on our website or direct your queries to info@sciencebasedtargets.org if you cannot find the answer in our existing resources.
- No Spam / Advertising / Self-promote in the forums: This forum defines spam as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites, or posts with little, or completely unrelated content. Do not spam the forums with links to your site or product, or try to self-promote your website, business or forums etc. Spamming also includes sending private messages to a large number of different users.
- DO NOT ASK for email addresses or phone numbers
- Do NOT POST copyright-infringing material: Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden.
- Do NOT POST “offensive” posts, links or images: Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. - The relevant team members will answer questions in their area of expertise on a regular basis
- We can not make assessments on whether a target can be approved on this forum. The target validation service of SBTi serves that purpose.
